Amazon announces Great Indian Festival, talks about big deals it will offer from October 10

It’s the season of celebrations. And ahead of the beginning of celebrations, Amazon India has announced the biggest festive celebrations on its platform. The Great Indian Festival will begin at 12AM on October 10 and go on till 11:59PM on October 15.

Ahead of the beginning of its festive celebrations, Amazon India showcased its first ever Amazon Festive Home in New Delhi, which saw over 1600 products from over 200 Indian and International brands, and small and medium businesses coming together to form various elements of an Indian household. At its Amazon Festive Home, the e-commerce giant also gave a glimpse of its newly launched Echo Dot, Echo Plus, Echo Show smart speakers, Echo Sub sub woofer and Echo Input. While Echo Dot, Echo Plus, and Echo Sub are already up for pre-orders, the Echo Show and Echo Input will be available in the country next year.

“As our customers prepare for the festive season, the Amazon Festive Home is an introduction to the kind of selection we have in store for them from India’s biggest brands…We have worked together with an eco-system of sellers, partners and brands to ensure that customers experience a bigger and better festive shopping experience,” Amazon India, Vice President-Category Management said in a statement.

“With an exciting and vast selection of programs such as Amazon Pay EMI, No-cost EMI on Debit and Credit cards and Bajaj Finserv Cards, fast delivery and installation of appliances, exchange of mobile phones and large appliances, instant book discounts, exciting cashback and lots more, customers can look forward to an exciting festival season,” he added.

As a part of its festive celebrations, the e-commerce giant has announced the biggest selection of smartphones including the upcoming the OnePlus 6T and Redmi 6A family, large appliances and home and kitchen products from companies like LG, Bosch, IFB, fashion apparels from companies Lóreal, BIBA and Calvin Klein among others.

While Amazon didn’t divulge any details about the special deals and discounts that it will be offering during its Great Indian Festival, it confirmed that its Prime subscribers will get early access to all the deals. While the non-Prime members would get deals and discounts starting October 10, Prime members will get access to some of the best deals on October 9.

Additionally, this year Amazon India is extending its no-cost EMI program to Debit card and Amazon Pay users. “If you have a credit card, last Diwali you could have availed up for no cost EMI. This Diwali we’re saying that if you have a Debit card, be it from HDFC Bank or ICICI Bank or Axis Bank, you can still get the no-cost EMI. We’re going one step further and saying, even if you don’t have a credit card or a debit card but you’ve been shopping on Amazon, we’ll offer you Amazon Pay EMI,” Tiwary told the media today. Amazon Pay users can avail three or six month no-cost EMI up to Rs 60,000.

Apart from this Amazon also unveiled its newly launched collection of Echo devices in India. The three devices- the new Echo Dot, which is priced at Rs 4,999, the new Echo Plus, which is priced at Rs 14,999, and Echo Sub, which is priced at Rs 12,999, are up for pre-orders on Amazon India platform. While the company will start shipping the refreshed line of Echo smart speakers in India starting October 11, it will start shipping the sub-woofer in the country starting November 14.

Besides this, in terms of fashion apparels, Amazon India is exclusively working with international brands such as Under Armour, street fashion brands and brands from Bollywood celebrities to offer the widest collection of goods to its customers. “We have Just F, which is brand launched by Jacqueline Fernandez, exclusively on our site, Prowl is a brand launched by Tiger Shroff, both are exclusive on the site,” Arun Srideshmukh, Head – Amazon Fashion, India, told India Today Tech. “The company is also collaborating with premium brands such as Van Heusen to create an affordable line called My First Formal,” he added.
