Ollie’s Bargain Outlet’s motto is “good stuff cheap,” so it’s not typically a destination for women looking for what could be the most expensive article of clothing they’ll ever buy.
The no-frills chain of stores is more for discount cookware, small appliances, kids’ books and towels. Not beaded gowns.
But the retailer is welcoming formalwear to the bargain fold for the first time.
Demetrios wedding and formal dresses went on sale at 9 a.m. Thursday, and will be on sale at the Harrisburg and Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, stores through Feb. 17.
Nearly 30,000 dresses are on sale at the two locations over 11 days.
Prom and formal dresses are $39.99, and wedding gowns range from $199 to $299.
Pro tip: There won’t be dressing rooms, so if you plan on trying on dresses wear something you can strip down to and slip a dress over. We’re thinking leggings and a tank top would work as a base layer.
Here are more details on the sale:
- Most of the dresses will be in sizes 8 to 14, although there are dresses in sizes 0 to 24, according to the Facebook page for the event.
- 7-day return policy
- Wedding gowns that typically sell at more than $2,500 will go for $299.99.
- Wedding gowns that typically sell at $2,500 or less will go for $199.99.
- There are no fitting rooms, but there will be mirrors.
