You should totally avoid wearing tight shoes and try stretching your shoes using at-home techniques. These tricks can open your shoes width wise – mind you, it doesn’t happen length wise. So do not go ahead and purchase shoes a size smaller because the bottom most part of the shoe cannot be stretched.
USE A BLOWDRYER
First up, wear a thick pair of socks and put on your shoes. Now blow the dryper on medium heat on them for straight 30 seconds. Keep moving it to different spot of the shoe to avoid overheating or impacting the leather or suede. You should apply a suede or leather conditioner to minimise the drying up effect of the heat.
USE THE FREEZER
Put water in a ziplock bag leaving some space on top. Now put it inside your shoe, till the toe area and put the shoes inside the freezer till the time the water turns into ice. Now take them out and let them rest of 20 minutes. Repeat it multiple times till the shoe become better fitting. This tricks works best with peep toes and pointed toe heels.
SHOE STRETCHER, ANYONE?
Heard of a shoe stretcher? Buy one because this is the least risky trick to loosen up shoes. It works best with leather shoes or your oxfords.
IF YOU HAVE A PAINFUL BLISTER FROM A NEW SHOE…
First wash it gently with a mild soap and pat it try. Cover it with a bandaid to minimise the chances of infection. You can also apply a local antibiotic.
