Realme U1 specifications
The Realme U1 looks awfully similar to the Realme 2 Pro in terms of design. It gets the same 6.3-inch FHD+ dewdrop display with a tiny droplet-style notch and a chin. This allows the phone to offer a 90 per cent screen-to-body ratio. This also makes the Realme U1 the cheapest phone right now to offer a waterdrop display. The rear panel offers what Realme calls a light pillar design, which essentially means light refracts on the panel in a way to offer straight lines. The rear panel comes with a 13-layer micron-level coating under the back cover and an atomic-level bonding to make it look translucent.
The Realme U1 will only be offered in Ambitous Black and Brave Blue colours as of now. The Fiery Gold option will be available starting 2019. The Realme U1 is the first phone in the world to come with the new octa-core Helio P70 chipset. The processor promises to deliver a 13 per cent boost in performance and up to 30 per cent improvement in AI processing over its predecessor, the Helio P60.
The 25MP selfie camera housed under the notch is a Sony IMX576 sensor that includes an f/2.0 aperture. The camera aims to offer crisp and sharp selfies with impressive noise control and colour recovery. The front camera also supports selfie bokeh and group selfies.
The dual rear cameras include a 13MP primary sensor and 2MP secondary sensor for portrait support. The Realme U1 ships with a 3,500mAh battery and ColorOS 5.2 based on Android Oreo. It supports dual nano-SIM cards with 4G VoLTE support and a dedicated microSD card slot. The handset measures 157x74x8mm and weighs 168 grams.
